Jim’s FlareTx characteristics: A passion for excellence, and a thirst for knowledge and understanding.

With a wealth of expertise honed over more than 30 years of hands-on small molecule drug discovery, Jim focuses on both the big picture, and the small details that differentiate success from failure in this endeavor. He fuels his passion for drug discovery by sharing knowledge with younger scientists, and seeks to continually learn from them as well.

Jim has held a number of important roles, focusing on the discovery and development of small molecule therapeutics, and is a named inventor on 19 small molecule development candidates, primarily in neuroscience and oncology. He has used his chemistry as a platform to address important questions in biology, and to address unmet medical needs.

Jim has a love for Chicago, mostly because that’s where he gets to spend time with his family.
