Brian’s FlareTx characteristics: A focus on patients waiting for new medicines, bringing clarity to complex decisions and discipline to company operations.
Brian has nearly three decades of experience across finance, business development, commercialization, corporate strategy and operations helping companies transform standards of care for patients facing life-threatening illnesses. He has played leadership roles in strategically impactful licenses, collaborations, acquisitions, and financings and deployed capital to create meaningful new medicines. He has led companies and brands from early clinical data through commercial launch with a consistent focus in oncology.
Much of his career has been spent bringing new medicines into highly competitive markets where clear thinking about patient needs has made the difference. As a cross-functional enterprise leader, he has run the business side of growing biotechs, raising money, allocating it strategically, and building the teams needed to move from science to script.
In his free time, Brian enjoys hiking (having climbed the 48 highest peaks in his native state of New Hampshire), keeping plants and old cars alive, and spending time with his family and Wookiee-esque dog. In fact, many people have said that Brian reminds them of Han Solo.
Nearly every one of us will face down a cancer diagnosis, whether for ourselves or for our friends or for our families. To contribute to bringing forward a new medicine is a privilege. Recognizing the urgent needs of patients waiting for new therapies is a requirement.
