Frank’s Flare characteristics: Encouraging and embracing new thinking. Fostering the talents of the team.
Frank oversees Flare’s dynamic operations and facilities, and drives the incredible teams that come together to develop new drugs that will change patients’ lives. Coolest job ever? He says yes.
Frank brings more than 20 years of drug development experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology R&D, specifically in Alliance and Program management. His special gift is getting uniquely (and often unrelatedly) talented individuals to work together to deliver on the goals of the organization.
He is passionate about food and wine, especially about winemaking: the biology, the chemistry, and the true artistry in knowing how to unlock the flavor of a set of grapes to create a perfectly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir.
Growing up the youngest of six kids, I learned from an early age the excitement of being a part of a diverse team. I know that the greatest adventures and achievements follow when a small group of individuals - like the group we’ve assembled here at Flare - bring their distinct talents together to work for a common goal. And I’ll always hold a special place in my heart for the underdog.
Whether attempting to harness the power of electricity, land a rover on Mars, or cure an incurable disease, the pursuit of the never-done-before is the greatest privilege in science. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with driven scientists as we steadily pursued the seemingly impossible, undeterred by inevitable setbacks, disappointments and naysayers, and I know firsthand the immeasurable reward of reaching those summits. I am inspired by the group of scientists at Flare, and honored to join the effort to reach new, uncharted scientific peaks.
